Handmade flatweave wool dhurries are one of the most traditional types of carpets manufactured at Rugs In Style. Even though old is gold, we like experimenting and putting our twist on the products. Hence, we also design these dhurries in contemporary and relatively modern designs. Flatweave rugs are known for their lightweight nature, as there is no piling involved. These work great in almost any setting and are easy to move around. At Rugs In Style, we use the best quality wool, combined with our unique designs and excellent craftsmanship.
Know About Our Manufacturing Process
For generations, flatweave rugs have been woven by hand in India, and there is no better alternative. The foundation of a soft, shiny, lightweight rug lies in choosing the suitable raw material. The primary raw material used in manufacturing flatweave rugs is good quality wool. Following selection, spinning, dyeing and washing processes play equally essential roles in making the perfect rug. The wool is spun by hand using a weaving technique in which the wool is woven around warped thread pairs.
These fibres form the base of the rug’s surface. In a true flatweave rug, the patterns are usually reversible on either side, and no usage of knots is made during the entire manufacturing process.
